What Is Keto?
What Is Keto?
Keyto is a low carbohydrate, moderate protein, high fat diet. Carbohydrate intake is restricted to 5% of daily calories, protein is 25% and fat is 70%. The purpose of which is to put your body into a state of ketosis. Ketosis is where your body begins to access and burn fat as it's primary energy source. Ketosis is something your body does in response to the type of food you're eating, so getting into ketosis is very much dependent on what you eat.
This low carb, high fat approach goes counter to contemporary dietary guidelines, because fat has become enemy number one. In fact it is the high levels of carbs that contribute to and drive obesity in America. For many Americans, over half of their daily calories come from processed foods, like chips, sweetened beverages, baked goods, and crackers made from grains. These highly processed foods cause a spike in blood sugar levels resulting in fat storage.
Highly processed foods also do something else that is equally bad for the body - they are extremely addictive. Our taste buds are hijacked by artificial flavors, and the brain becomes addicted to the rush of carbohydrates. Normal feedback mechanism that tell us we are satisfied are broken. The result is overeating accompanied by early onset diabetes, high blood pressure and other metabolic disorders. These erode our quality of life.
Keto reverses this process by changing your body's primary fuel source from carbs/glucose to fat/ketones. Ketones are produced by your body in response to low glucose and are a powerful fuel source used by just about every part of your body including your brain. Most importantly - ketones are produced by breaking down fat! This is the basis of why keto is so powerful. But this transition is not easy. And that is where Keto Kata comes to the rescue. This program contains strategies and techniques that help you navigate the treacherous path of getting keto adapted; then reach escape velocity so that you never look back! Most people never become keto adapted and turn away from the program. Don't let that be you! Keto is by far the most effective program at shredding weight and adding lean muscle mass.
How effective is keto? My weight loss is comparable to someone having bariatric surgery but without the complications and without the costs. 60lbs in five months was my results, you could have similar results or even exceed my performance. But even if you only achieve half of that you would outperform just about any other weight loss plan.
Here's an important insight - the majority of your calories are burned during your resting metabolic state. Not during exercise, but when you're at rest. By changing the fuel your body uses, you can begin to tap into stored energy reserves to support your metabolic function. This is how you achieve explosive weight loss.
But keto is more than just weight loss. It's about giving your body the fuel it needs for good gut health, and supporting muscle growth. I had a net 60lbs total weight loss, but my actual fat loss was even higher because that number also include muscle tissue gain. This is how transformation is supported. You don't want to just lose weight, you want to be healthy, stronger, more aerobically fit. The foundation for all of this is the ketogenic dietary lifestyle.
